We have tested the burgers at Wendy’s, Burger King and McDonald’s just to settle this debate once and for all. When it comes to the menu, fast food brands have everything for everyone. For the soccer mom on the move, how about five-piece chicken nuggets? That is not all! If you are a passionate meat lover nothing beats a quarter pounder with a touch of melted cheese. And there is also the salad for more health conscious individuals. In a nutshell, menu choices are endless in fast food chains but there is only one thing we all look forward to, the signature burger. No fast food chain can survive without its premier burger. So how do the “Big Three” compare as far as the burgers go? By Big three we mean Wendy’s “Dave’s Single,” Burger King’s “the Whopper” and McDonald’s “Big Mac.”

The question is simple, which of these three makes the best flagship burger? The Whopper is a simple delight and it’s no surprise it’s sold in all Burger King Outlets. It features a grilled quarter pound beef. The beef is topped with pickles, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, onion slices, and ketchup. All this magic is tucked away in a delicious sesame seed bun. The Whopper doesn’t come with cheese but of course, if you wanted some to go with everything, you can just ask.

The pickles are amazingly tart just to add to the delicious crunch. The sesame seed ban is big enough too. Burger King has in the past been criticized on the quality metric but the Whopper has everything you’d want in a burger and more. The Big Mac, on the other hand, is absolutely iconic and one of the most popular choices in the US. It features two thin patties, some onions and shredded lettuce, pickles, American cheese, and a three piece bun. And there is the secret source that brings everything together. The bun is a little sweet, but then again, there is something there that makes it tick. I just loved it!

The Dave’s Single from Wendy’s has been reworked for quite some time in the history of Wendy’s, most recently in 2011. The Wendy’s Single as it was known was revamped to Dave’s Hot ‘N’ Juicy but it was last year shortened to Dave’s Single. The burger features the famous Wendy's quarter-pound square patties that are exquisitely sandwiched between two amazing slices of cheese, red onions, pickles, some ketchup, mayonnaise, tomatoes, and lettuce. Despite this revamp from Wendy’s it feels like something is still missing. The burger is a little too dry, perhaps. And that’s it. The search for the number one burger is over. The Big Mac carries the day with the Whopper taking second and Wendy’s Dave’s Single coming third.
